supposed to back up

fara | 2/26/2010 | 2:53 pm

my entire site due to some migration by the webhosting provider on sunday. but can’t get into the mood of remembering my ftp password :P esp since it’s a long weekend.

should prolly just let it be and if the blog does get corrupted or lost – i can start fresh!

then again, i might just backup those photos i uploaded

the one where i try to understand baby talk

fara | 1/9/2010 | 9:18 pm

came across dunstan’s secret language of babies i think a year back, when i was blog-hopping and was wondering whether it would really work.

recalled the same concept when aryan was just a few days old but never got round to locating the video again.

just a recap, newborn babies normally would only cry when they’re hungry, sleepy or uncomfortable and the concept identified 5 main sounds that we need to respond to:

1. Neh means I am hungry

2. Owh means I am sleepy

3. Eh means I need to burp

4. Eirh means I have gas/wind

5. Heh means I am uncomfortable

For further details on suggested ways to respond to each sound (well, just for 4 & 5 – 1,2 & 3 is pretty self explanatory) – go to this page and download the comprehensive booklet – then go to youtube to listen to samples of the sounds.

2 weeks ago, i finally found the video on youtube – and managed to identify the ‘Neh’ and ‘Owh’ sounds quite easily & have since been trying to respond to aryan depending on what sounds he makes.

the other three (Eh, Heh and Eirh) is not that easily differentiated and am still working on identifying. which explains why aryan spits up milk quite regularly.

i still have 6-odd weeks left to figure the final 3 out before aryan starts introducing new words and start confounding me with his oratory prowess…

the one where it’s the eve of kakak’s 1st day at primary 1!

fara | 1/3/2010 | 9:46 pm

and i am psyched!

of course, us being the first time parents of a primary-one-er – went a bit crazy with buying  her new school stuff .. and she will be decked in all-pink – from her trolley-school-bag (good buy since the kids have like tonnes of books to carry), to her pencil case, to her art supplies and her drinking bottle + lunch box. nasib le skool regulates the color of the hair accessories, if not – am pretty sure kakak will be putting on her pretty pink head band!

as am typing this, kakak is already asleep as tomorrow is her big day whilst abang is still wide awake. since i have passed my 40-day mark in my confinement, am declaring myself fit to accompany her to school (with the whole clan of course!) and it will only be the 3rd time aryan & i will be leaving the home compound since 25th nov!

now to see whether i can sneak a few shots of her entering her classroom tomorrow :P
