and i am still stumped for a name.

kakak had a name chosen – when we were still assuming the baby would be a girl.

the last ultrasound – doc seemed quite confident that the next young’un would be a boy.. and we’ve been looking thru lists for good muslim male names – which also starts with ‘a’

suggestions are most welcome!!

now to go and snuggle with kakak and abang while i can still allocate one arm for each… ainul’s sharing of what transpires at bed time post arrival of aryssa … makes my heart break… now my main mission at home is to train either one to look for baba instead of mama for the night time cuddles.

36-week-pregger-lady ober n out

this is a piece of work by kakak… she drew this while being home-quarantined ..a decision made by both her parents in light of the H1N1 scare and also the fact that her pre-school had cautioned us of an outbreak of HFMD in the neighborhood. she produces works like these whenever the fancy hits her, which is nearly every day. most of the time, it’s black and white… extra effort in coloring would be made if she feels extra good on that day…

and since i was blardy bogged with work yesterday that my plans to hop over klcc or pavillion to get a card or token gift for amir’s birthday was crushed – immediately suggested to kakak that she address the drawing to her baba! (yeah, cheapo mommy.. LOL.. sorry ayang… mmg nawaitu dah ada dah… but time didn’t permit)

then this morning after sahur.. did the usual rounds on my google reader feed and came across the updates from emilayusof.com… especially love her moleskine series of illustrations.. and was reminded that in those distant days of bukit merbah, i was quite fond of doodling myself…

it was an outlet from all the studying *cough*cough* that we did – boarding skool kids are a hardworking bunch you know!… i especially recall doodling the backs of the heads of my classmates after being done with my exam papers… it was a common doodle on the extra foolscap that was distributed for our answer sheet.. wish i had kept those..

anywho.. since kakak regularly draws (and goes through the full ream of paper in 2 months or so).. i loathe thinking that i’d lose those extra good drawings she made – so am considering getting (making?) her a proper folio so she can keep her loose pieces of work.. and also buying those sketch books (which makes my life much much easier).. should also consider getting one myself and see whether i still got that drawing/doodling bug in me..

has come in early..

to those who work in the same company as me, don’t get overly excited or pissed. it’s not that bonus.. and seeing from the current climate – we’d be lucky if we get any this year.

i wrote an entry about this 2 yrs & 10 months back.. and would not have expected to be blogging on the same this soon. at least not until after 3 yrs.

but yeah, i’ve got confirmation that anaqi shall be unceremoniously bumped off his pedestal as the king of his grannies’ house by dec 2009. as per calculation of my last visitor, i may be 6 weeks along.

to recap the exchange between kakak and myself on the pending arrival:

me: so kakak, we’re gonna get a new baby!

kakak: hahhh??! a new baby?? (with a concerned look on her face)

me: why, what’s wrong with a new baby?

kakak: i don’t think we can take care of two babies. we already have one baby already – anaqi is still a baby lah.

me: it’s ok. you can take care of anaqi. i will take care of the new baby. how’s that?

kakak: ehh.. no!!! i can’t – i am also still small! … ma.. i don’t think we should have another baby.

apparently, this piece of news needs awhile to be absorbed and accepted by my nucleo family.

she had watched this episode of american dragon where haley lost her tooth and the tooth fairy came and what not.

this evening on our way home from yaie’s place – she checked out her reflection in the rear view mirror and mentioned that she doesn’t want to lose her baby teeth.

i responded that those will fall off sooner or later – and will be replaced with new permanent teeth. plus, “wouldn’t you want the tooth fairy to come and give you pennies for your teeth?”

to which she retorted, “we already have a lot of money at home! why do we want the tooth fairy to give me money?”

wah.. she made it sound like we had gazillions worth of cash lying around

i have her concert photos in the other notebook – but couldn’t be arsed to transfer them to this one now.

she was a cheerleader dancing to the tune of ‘together, forever’ courtesy of hsm2.

by the way, today’s the last day of school and i’m still sitting on the 2009 enrolment confirmation slip.. the pre-school chain has turned into a full-blown money making machine.

why?

there used to be a principal for kakak’s pre-school branch – she’s been replaced and the new lady’s designation is business manager ?! both amir & i think it’s getting too commercialised for our liking.

is there a rule somewhere that a child must attend kindy @ 6 to be able to enrol in standard one when they turn 7? am considering taking kakak out of kindy and just sign her up to learn quran recital (which i have yet to do)
