aryan update: at three months

fara | 3/13/2010 | 9:57 am

the vital stats: -

  • weight: 6.2 kgs
  • length: 68 cms
  • head circumference: 45 cms

he was supposed to have been given his 6 in 1 jab last friday – which was the reason i took the day off – but as he was still recovering from the high fever and sniffles, will probably do it today instead.

on his development, as displayed in the fb photo albums – he was able to have good neck and head control @ 2.5 mths, goes bonkers when he’s left on his back for too long – we got him a bumbo seat so yaie would not need to hold him upright all the time.

last weekend, he managed to rollover from his back to his tummy on his own.. we had to help out a bit though with freeing up whichever arm that gets stuck under him.. and he’d happily do those mini push-ups until he gets tired & starts screaming for help.

of my 3 stooges, aryan has exhibited the earliest interest in getting mobile – kakak & abang were pretty content with lying around til they turned 4 mths. i think it’s due to having older siblings running & tumbling around him so it got aryan all pumped !!!

methinks facebook/twitter killed the blogging star (or passion)

fara | 3/11/2010 | 9:31 pm

just noticed how previously my blog is where i keep (unfaithful) record of my life. but ever since the facebook bug got me good, well… updates have been sporadic …photo uploads to my blog gallery has dwindled to almost zero.. all due to the lack of interactivity compared to social media.

oh well.. onwards! and to the beyond~ (and no, am not promoting astro here..)…

anyone recall the show beyond 2000? the inventions or innovations that they showcased there – have all of the things become common place or still on the drawing board?

90 days for moms…

fara | 3/10/2010 | 9:54 pm

received a link from mylla earlier this week – i actually read on it in the papers but thought the petition was only for banking industry workers.

figured it wouldn’t hurt to read what exactly is contained in the petition.. and ended up putting in my signature.

i never realised that we were that behind in terms of awareness on rights for working women… i do know that over in the west, moms are given more than the 2 months leave that we malaysian moms are currently entitled to. although i am yet undecided when the next offspring will be in the making (since the latest addition is only 3 mths++ old), i would definitely appreciate the additional 1 month as it would help ease me into getting back to work.

though, if compared to my mom who used to get only 40 days maternity leave – 60 days seems like a luxury already. oh well. we should keep moving forward for the betterment of the future

if you would like to support the petition, go to the site. spread the word!

when both aryan and anaqi decided to get sick together

fara | 3/6/2010 | 2:13 pm

this is a precursor of how things would be when they grow up.. hopefully sticking together through thick and thin!

had a suspicion that aryan may be catching something when he was fussy thursday morn – he woke at 3 am and didn’t want to settle down until it was time to get kakak ready for skool.. then noticed his body was a bit warm but tried to deceive myself by attributing it as due to him throwing a tantrum.

yaie was already unwell and nenek has taken the day off to look after the two heroes.. i left for the office with a message that if aryan does end up with a fever – to call me and i’d be back after a meeting that was set for 10:30am.

aryan with cool fever packat 9:30am, yaie called to say that aryan registered 38.8C on the thermometer.. which is damned high.. delegated to my trusty team member to attend the said meeting (of course with the necessary ammos).. and hailed a cab home and was greeted with this image of kesian-ness… and abang also showed signs of having contracted the same thing..

anaqi also with a cool fever packfast fwd today… aryan seems to have recovered from his fever – tho there’s residual crankiness. abang’s temperature shot up early this morning and had to resort to using the torpedo medicine. he finally sweated the fever out and now is running around like he was never sick.. i am thankful that they’ve managed to recover this son – alhamdulillah.
