ehlo. if i even manage to get to youtube is considered baguss.. not only telly conquered by daughter dearest - everytime i am infront of the mac - kakak will come mengendeng and say ‘maaa.. can i play one game pleaseeeeeeee’ which mother can say no ? especially if it’s accompanied by xoxoxox

had initially suggested dark knight. but in deference to kakcik’s condition - no surprises/shocking/spooky scenes for her - had switched to hancock.

was thwarted again in my choice as the showtimes available wasn’t that favorable to my allocated time slot of 11am - 2pm and may well eat into my curfew (yes, it’s worse than when i was 18! moreover the person keeping time is a 5-year-old!)

anywho - ended up watching the movie version of the (older, but not necessarily more mature) chick flick.

was expected to be totally bored or fed up with in your face product placements (from reviews i read lah). but if i would be honest, it wasn’t half bad.

if anything, it got me a new addition to my ‘have-to-get’ books

and oh, finally had my nihon food fix. kakcik and i had our makan and borak session @ sushi zanmai which was good.. have decided to drag the family along next we are in this neck of the woods. *burp* can still remember the taiyaki

though you get to see this type of news every other day (sometimes everyday) - it’s not every day that it happens at your doorstep.

was going through my routine @ 12pm-ish - kakcik and a few others know what i mean - when my activity-mate shared the latest bit of news on the neighborhood we live in. was flabbergasted to hear that it happened in the hypermart i frequent and that the vehicle used in the heist was destroyed on my street.

that piece of news then slipped from my mind until i was on my way back home from picking up the kids @ their grannies’. was puzzled as to why the traffic was exceptionally slow AFTER the construction detour on jln jelatek (normally it’s congested before - as common sense would have it)

then it hit me! a roadblock - probably to try and nab the culprits. and suddenly i became a bit worried.

certain evenings amir heads for a game or two of futsal or badminton before returning home from work - this evening is one of them. i became a bit paranoid while unlocking the gates to our porch and insisted that kakak lock the car doors while i was at it.

this .. in an area that’s supposed to be patrolled by the police.

i hope i get over this paranoia soon ~ it ain’t fun having to be too cautious in your own habitat!

but it was good to meet up nonetheless. i forgot to check whether gontels did finally turn up at old town?

2 or 3 years back, my colleagues and i experienced a brief phase of wanting to eat healthier and had signed up for a healthy food delivery service. much good that did to us - not only was the portion too small (all of us were still hungry after we’re done with the food), we ended up paying for additional (non-healthy) food heh!… since then we settled back into the routine of heading over to wisma central if we had a craving for makan nasi campur.

now a new food delivery service has been introduced - which is actually serviced by a group of housewives wanting to supplement their income (probably due to the recent fuel hike!!).

came across mangkuktingkat.com through the weekend paper. it is managed by yayasan nur hikmah  which is a charity organisation and offers your basic dishes delivery for RM3.50 a day or you can complete it with rice by adding on another RM1. the delivery charge is RM1.5o a day so that totals to RM6.00 (which is definitely less than what i have to spend for lunch @ suria klcc)

the only thing is - you need to sign up for a month’s delivery - which may be a bit too much to commit to when i haven’t even tried out the service (and what of the days that i have working lunches or just want to head out for fast food?)

come to think of it - probably i should just sign up since the whole month’s delivery costs less than my 3 weeks’ lunch budget

if i do sign up, will definitely provide my feedback on the food and service here
if you are a bit more rajin and like to cook yourself, then u might wanna bring your own mangkuk tingkat. as i am all for online shopping, here’s one possible option -> yatt’s collection

note:

a major plus is that they do not use polystyrene containers or even those microwaveable plastic containers (which i am trying to reduce using) - as the namesake shows - mangkuk tingkat utilises  stacked containers (alternately known as mangkuk sia) and when you sign up for the delivery service - you also pay Rm30 for 2 sets of these - they do not allow these to be shared. another plus for ‘em!
