counting the days til june comes around
fara | 5/6/2008 | 5:47 pmit’s only the first week of may and i am already starting to count down to 1st week of june. why? coz that’s when i take off for a week to recharge – focus 100% on the hubby and kids – and finally getting the desired combo of sun, sand and surf.
before that – things that i’d like to settle/complete to have peace of mind during that break:
- finalise my appraisal for the past fy. yeah.. we’re a bit late compared to everybody else. in my case, this is actually an improvement from previous appraisal period – i submitted zilch!Â
- i’d need to figure out how this next phase of work am doing @ cyberjaya will work out – key resources are currently in myanmar – we want to pull in vendors to assist but potentially will be a cost that the company has to absorb? nice, huh? not the type of project any appraisal-conscious employee would like to be linked to as it spells LOSS with a capital L.
- volunteered myself for the dept’s sharepoint site – now to lock down the sp developer for that training so at least a semblance of a site can be up and running for dept use
- need to also confirm whether another project of mine will take off and when
- on a personal note: need to upgrade to the latest wp version – what i am reading on the feature seems good – tho am hesitant as it may break the theme i am using. will keep that for the week just before i go off!
on another note, just had a briefing session with the head honcho. i’ve been to nearly all head honcho’s briefings/address – but this one is by far the most lucid and comprehensible. those who’ve experienced the sopranos version may get my drift.
and the term that i’ve longed to hear from those parts (but didn’t realise it until just now) was efforts made for talent retention – which wasn’t big on the agenda previously but made its way for this year. a definite balm to my nerves and sanity (search ‘budak itam’ in this blog and u’ll figure out why)
