last year – when me partner-in-crime tendered her resignation – i made note of it here with the question whether any others would follow suit

true enuff. yesterday, one of the remaining four tendered her resignation – which is a big thing… seeing that i think she was amongst us who complained/bitched the least abt the ship and seemed to have more fun working.

2008 seems to be a year of adieus – career-wise laaa.. prolly i should plan my exit too…lol

.. thestar metro had it as their headline yesterday, a fren had multiple experiences with jerks onboard … and now ziah blogged abt the antics of ppl using this form of public transport.

mine experience was more of the ‘duduk-mcm-bapak-aku-nye-lrt’ type. imagine – with only 4 stops ‘tween klcc & swangsa – this bugger could rile me up when I only took a seat bside him after damai stn.

duduk ala the guy in ur pic – his bum & thigh pressing to my side. I moved a bit – he encroached some more. scooted over some more – sampai minah on my right pun move a bit.. he encroached lagi… (no wonder the minah switched seats!!!)

ini tak boleh jadiiiii!!! x tahan lagi, stood up & told him off in england as I tend to when  i am pissed! mamat tu buat muka blur.. x paham. .. switch to malay & spoke slowly in case he’s also dumb.

‘putra lrt dah penat design tempat duduk tu elok aje sorang satu. yg encik ni x pandai nak duduk elok2 ke …sampai masuk seat saya?’

he didn’t even apologise – was just darned flabbergasted that he was confronted – the other commuters just stared – dunno whether at him sbb kena sound or at me for giving him a piece of my mind.. couldn’t care less… next stop was mine so i huffily exited the coach..

that experience – coupled with others (mostly whilst i was preggers) made me the lrt-snob that i am now. started driving again while carrying anaqi to term… never turned back since. unless it’s a short stop away – like ampang park – or during non-peak hours

first, lets get the vitals over with… went for his healthy baby checkup on 04 jan 08 but didn’t get round to updating here.

his first tooth!

ok.. back to the teeth… arrived home from work and was greeted by anaqi at the door of nenek’s house – he virtually blocked my way in as he was so darned curious to see what i had in the bag i brought out of the car – it was rotiboy’s mexican buns…

although he had just had a meal, being the greedy one who is always interested in new food – he kept his attention on the loot even tho i cuddled and kissed him – obviously mama is not as important as getting his gums on the food.

so i started feeding him small bits of the bun.. being the cheeky lil boy that he is – he sometimes likes to just gum my fingers to death.. it was then that i noticed the bite. double checked by rubbing my finger over his lower gums…

and o’le!! his 1st tooth hath arrivedth!!

after near 7 months of his nenek being sure that he is about to teeth since he keeps trying to bite everything in sight and in grasp from age 4 month..

i announced it to his grannies.. who cheered him on.. anaqi clapped with delight – he does that everytime someone cheers..

standing on his own!

by the way, he started trying to stand on his own two (chubby) legs at two weeks prior to new years.. while recovering from the bout of cold last week – he managed to score 2-3 attempts of standing – each lasting 5-10 seconds.

and when we reached wangsa maju abode earlier tonite – he managed to stay balanced and upright for more than 20 seconds before grabbing my knee to stop from falling

so hooray for anaqi – two milestones in the space of a few days! once camera batteries are properly charged, will document the emergence of his 1st molar!!

i’ve noticed something – every quarter – the family will be hit by a bout of some illness or other. the last i went underwater (under the radar due to busy tending to kids, self or hubby) was in october.

i was just recalling those days when … bamm!! anaqi came down with fever on monday – the fact that i was away all day (only reached home @ 11pm) when he started getting the symptoms didn’t help. so i was on emergency leave for the next two days… and since i am one who religiously takes her supplement… the lack of rest *relative to the other days* caused my own immune system to come under attack..

of gender discernment

kakak had a bout of determining everything by its gender last year when her class was introduced the topic… nenek – girl, yaie – boy, adik – boy, baba – boy… etc etc.. thank god we only speak in english and malay – if arab or french was in the books – then tables, chairs etc etc would also be subjected to this discussion.

she would also start classifying activities by which gender does what – play soccer? boy. play dolls? girls..

anywho, was discussing with a friend on her purchases for her firstborn… she just bought a walker-cum-car-cum-stroller thingamajig for her daughter and it had a barbie-girl design. i mentioned that i just recycled kakak’s stuff – which on hindsight, i luckily bought with designs that were gender-neutral.. friend mentioned that the alternate design for the equipment she bought was based on winnie-the-pooh.

what can i say? it’s a new year… with a new captain… and hopefully, with new jobs that challenge me. will see as the year progresses whether my decision to stick it out will shoot me in the back
