well, not that long ago.
i did lunch @ genki sushi klcc with kakcik and an old friend earlier today. aligned with my resolution to reconnect with old friends – finally hooked up with this lady although we worked in neighbouring towers! this one tho had nuthin to do with skool, college or work..
during my undergrad days, made friends not only from the alma mater, i also picked up friends thru what was the hottest thing online at that point in time – irc. do kids nowadays even know it exists?
back in the heydays of my being hooked – i actually made the effort of meeting up with those i befriended – it took me to areas in klang valley that i would not normally be – caused me to do some pretty crazy stuff – met quite a few characters (some bad, some downright whacky, mostly good and one golden – you know who u are, yang)
heck – i even developed a website for one of the channels i was operator of. that’s how much i was into irc
but again, after kakak’s arrival (this excuse is getting a bit lame, ain’t it?) not only did i no longer hv the extra time to spend online – as whatever time i had leftover after work was dedicated to the family, i also opted out of the gatherings organised.. accessing from office was risky business.. altho i was chums with the sys admin !!
so there we were… after nearly 5 years.. a lot had actually happened in that space of time.. and 1.5 hours worth of chit chat only skimmed the surface of everything. i dare say we will need more sessions like this in the future..
whaddya think ateen?
