anaqi update: he’s cruisinnnnn’

fara | 12/17/2007 | 1:29 am

ira's birthday - aqi loves all the ballsoh yes he is… god knows i’ve been holding my breath for this moment – especially since he doesn’t seem to be bothered with crawling. it’s actually been a few weeks since he started pulling himself up using the furniture available either at his grannies’ or our own home.

but these last few days, he seems more confident in cruisin’ along the length of the furniture, babbling his (and my) head off while doing it. anaqi has also started actively taking baby steps when we lead him… making funny faces to all and sundry – showing his delight in being able to walk.

papa had been taking him to the neighborhood playground and made anaqi tread the grass there. old wives’ tales say that if you want your kids to start walk – let em tread on the morning dew that gathers there. in actual fact, it’s the cold + the grass tickling that makes the kid step up and down.

i’ve also noticed that he now knows how to clap and bang on objects to the beat of any music that interests him. apparently, based on papa’s feedback, he’s been doing this for quite some time – but i’ve been too pre-occupied to notice.

now am considering whether i should start signing with anaqi – read an article at babycenter ( here ) which kinda piqued my interest. will try it out and see how that goes.

on physical side of things, am going to see the doc sometime during the next two weeks – so i can get him weighed. it seems as if he’s put on quite a few since his last checkup – but i’d like to confirm … where before he normally eats half a bowl of porridge – he now finishes the whole bowl and then still insist on some snacks in between.

wopppsss.. he’s calling for his feed!!!

update 16.01.2008: forgot to place his vitals

weight: 8.0 kgs

length (height): 75 cm

head circumference: n/a

of catching up

fara | 12/17/2007 | 12:44 am

i think last week was the week for rebonding … not hair rebonding, yah?? i don’t hv that much dough to squander on something that may only last 2-3 months.

back to my point… rebonding in terms of connecting back with old friends.

friday – had a togeder2 session with the other 4 budak itams… the one who followed her heart to germany was back in town and of course, we’d like to catch up on news! altho she wouldn’t be @ the appointed meeting place til 6:30 pm – the rest of us *those who are stuck in the towers* decided to meet up prior (meself and kakcik went down @ 4:45pm just for the heck of it)

it was good… this used to be our playground… (the cafes on esplanade, i mean).. in the early days – would see us there every week or other week.. just to talk. but as we grew older with the company, we ended up not having the energy nor feel the need to meet for drinks after hours.. it’s work then back to where we always head back to after the floodgates are open :P

saturday – had a rendesvous with another group of frens.. this time from wa-hayyyy back… one of which i haven’t met since 1997 or so? we’ve only been keeping in touch via phone… which by my standards is actually good – since i rarely go out to hv drinks with this circle of frens anywho. lunch @ kiwi express, hartamas. somehow we even got to reminiscing about the encounters of the other-worldy kind when we were at that college.

am now seriously considering making a point of scheduling more of these sessions in the future.. say fortnightly? now to trace back those frens i’ve neglected so long…

so to those of you who wanna meet on weekends.. i am now willing to leave me boy and gal with the baba for a few hours !

it’s finally live

fara | 12/11/2007 | 10:06 pm

when i returned to work in apr, it was with the idea that i want to be re-assigned to do support as i’d prefer the monotony to the uncertainty of project schedules.

alas! it was not to be – as a project was literally thrust into my hands and it was from that point onwards my baby.

it was supposed to be delivered mid-sept – but due to forces way beyond my control – a major component of the project to which many other tasks are dependent on was transfered to other hands… hence, purported delay to end oct.

trollbabyas we would have it – fate and time was not on the project side, tasks got delayed again due to scheduling conflicts and the goal post keeps getting moved.

i was close to tearing me hair out and there are moments where i felt like just throwing in the towel and walk out of the project.. which is witness by this and this entry…

however..now.. today.. after nearly 7 months wait.. it’s finally delivered.

i can breathe slightly easier nowadays… and now to focus on getting this darned proposal out of the door and into the client’s inbox!!

fulfilled one in my wishlist : eat #1!! yeay!

fara | 12/8/2007 | 12:21 am

better late than never aye??

more than a year ago – when my tummy was ballooning like nobody’s business and i could always use the baby as an excuse for gorging meself – i had a craving for reese’s peanut butter cups – no thanx to KY for posting and providing images on it.

since then, i would always make a point of making a stop @ the chocolatier on suria klcc’s concourse floor just to check whether their stock is in – BUT IT NEVER MATERIALISED!!

nutvschoccupsi think i was conned by the salesgirls – them must be thinkin – this preggy lady – if i tell her to check again in future – eventhough reese’s not available, due to choc craving that preggy ladies are normally subjected to – she might succumb to buying other chocolate!! well… them thinks wrong – never bought a single thing altho every other week i’d be browsing their wares.

fast forward 14 months later. was doing my grocery shopping @ carrefour w. maju with kakak in tow and happily plunking packs of mr. potato into me trolley when i suddenly spotted le orange packaging that looks oh-so-familiar. imagine my delight when it turned out to be reese’s peanut butter cups. my preciousssssssssss… and the good thing is – there’s tonnes of ‘em!

managed to control myself and only bought two.. (since am no longer preggers and have excuse to gorge meself right?)..

suffice to say – i am currently on peanut butter choc high.

~*happy*~

note:

do i have to also say that i purchased only for meself – it’s all minnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! mine, i say!!
