anaqi update: he’s cruisinnnnn’

17 12 2007

ira's birthday - aqi loves all the ballsoh yes he is… god knows i’ve been holding my breath for this moment - especially since he doesn’t seem to be bothered with crawling. it’s actually been a few weeks since he started pulling himself up using the furniture available either at his grannies’ or our own home.

but these last few days, he seems more confident in cruisin’ along the length of the furniture, babbling his (and my) head off while doing it. anaqi has also started actively taking baby steps when we lead him… making funny faces to all and sundry - showing his delight in being able to walk.

papa had been taking him to the neighborhood playground and made anaqi tread the grass there. old wives’ tales say that if you want your kids to start walk - let em tread on the morning dew that gathers there. in actual fact, it’s the cold + the grass tickling that makes the kid step up and down.

i’ve also noticed that he now knows how to clap and bang on objects to the beat of any music that interests him. apparently, based on papa’s feedback, he’s been doing this for quite some time - but i’ve been too pre-occupied to notice.

now am considering whether i should start signing with anaqi - read an article at babycenter ( here ) which kinda piqued my interest. will try it out and see how that goes.

on physical side of things, am going to see the doc sometime during the next two weeks - so i can get him weighed. it seems as if he’s put on quite a few since his last checkup - but i’d like to confirm … where before he normally eats half a bowl of porridge - he now finishes the whole bowl and then still insist on some snacks in between.

wopppsss.. he’s calling for his feed!!!
