no… i am not going for a gender change surgery.
for the past few weeks, this was the normal conversation i’d have with kakak whilst driving her to her pre-school every weekday morning. we’re in the car, i’d just started the engine and the story goes…
kakak: ma… i want the sad song…
me: ok.. (puts on the high school musical 2 cd and go straight to track #07)
kakak starts singing the song with feeling…. then zach efron’s part would come and …
*pelepapppp!!!!* i feel a smack on my arm..
kakak: MAAAAAAAA…. you missed the boy part… you be the boy ok??!!!!
me: ok ok.. sorry sayang.. mama kan driving.. i was concentrating on taking that turn… i won’t miss the next part
the next bit for zach efron would come.. and i’d hop on to the singing in perfect timing.. and you’d be proud to see the duet..
and suddenly…

kakak: MAAaaaaAAAaaaaAAaaaa!!!! why did you sing my partt?!! you’re the boy.. i am the girl!!!
me: sorry sorry sayang… mama was having too much fun singing 
kakak: *** sulkss in the passenger seat***
track #08 comes on - this is where zach efron is having that conflict with himself - you know, the part where he goes berserk on the golf course?
anywho, the conversation would go like this instead…
since the track is sung totally by zach…
me: kakak.. you keep quiet aa… this is the boy song.. so i will sing all of it
kakak: errr… it’s okeyyy.. we sing together la mama.. i know this song…
she will then proceed singing with all the hand and body gestures - just like zach
what else could i do but agree? takkan nak rebut ngan anak nyanyi lagu disney? if i were in the mood to tease her, i’d insist that she keep quiet - but then, i’ll be the one late for work sbb kena pujuk dia balik

hehehehe…how cute. My kids are also into High School Musical but they only remember the songs from the 1st movie. So far, haven’t seen the 2nd movie in full. Tak tahanlah, nanti asyik2 nyanyi lagu yg sama dalam kereta…hehehehe…
don’t start watch it yet.. wait until they have the DVD for HSM2 out - there’s gonna be an extra music video - humuhumunukunukuapua’a. that one is a blast- kakak always have fun trying to pronounce the word.
