off on a roadtripweight: 7.8kgs

length (height): 71 cm

head circumference: tak ukur plakkk

should’ve updated 2 weeks ago - but after the checkup i succumbed to; first - migraine, second - diarhhea; which saw me taking sick leave for 3 days straight. the weekend following - kakak and anaqi decided to do synchronised sneezing and coughing.

a niggling fear i had at the back of my mind after i gave birth to anaqi was how would i handle both kids being sick at the same time. well, last week was the test… and it was not fun - especially since kakak insists on me looking after her whilst anaqi is dependent on me for his breastmilk. though alhamdulillah - all parties involved got thru it without adding another strand of white hair to me :)

all said and done, there is however one thing that’s bothering me - u know the term bouncing babies? well, this baby of mine - he doesn’t bounce - yet.

one of anaqi’s nickname is happy feet (the other is bu bu) - as when excited or pre-occupied whilst on his back or tummy or in his stroller - his two legs will be pumping away like nobody’s business.

but if you try hold him to a firm surface expecting him to push up with his legs or bounce him on your lap… he just won’t cooperate. first papa commented on it.. then it was our regular GP…

so it got me a bit worried - and where else did i go but my trusty online reference - babycenter.com. and read up on physical developmental delays…. under the age group 7-9 mths, mentally checked all but the fourth point

  • at 7 months, has poor head control when pulled to a sitting position
  • at 7 months, is unable to get objects into his mouth
  • at 7 months, is not reaching for objects
  • by 7 months, doesn’t bear some weight on his legs
  • by 8 months, can’t sit independently

checked on kakak’s pictures when she was around that age - she had already started standing if supported.

emmm… should i be worried?
