the mess called public transportation

3 05 2006

according to our revised plan, we should be moving to selayang mid-2006. looking at amir’s shift schedule, on his off-days, i may need to either take the car to work (which will leave amir & kya vehicle-less)  or *gasp!!* the BUS!

the last bus i boarded was a putra feeder bus - of which i only had to spend max 10 mins on. i dunno whether i am well-conditioned for this kind of commute

which is why i spent half of my lunch time today just browsing thru the rapidkl website to gauge how long would my trip be from selayang to klcc.

after a lot of clicking here and there (to combine rate/route/destination), i could roughly say that i will need to switch buses at least 2 times. from a local shuttle - to trunk line - to city shuttle. each switch, the routes would have at min of 5-15 mins bus frequency rate (at best!). but no mention of the avg travel time since for klang valley, there’s no such thing as an avg travel duration for public transportation (esp if it’s plying the same road as private vehicles)… warghhh!!! i so miss the met!

one day, will need to attempt the route - will give update on my experience. betcha i will end up either utterly pissed or utterly speechless.
