have u ever done bollywood aerobics?
fara | 3/15/2006 | 9:11 amyup! yessirreeeee… when i walked the mile between klcc (kuala lumpur city center) thru klcc (kuala lumpur convention center) to hla tower, i never would’ve imagined i’d be doing those bollywood moves in a gym (of all places)
yeah, i did perform an indian dance for our price-giving ceremony when i was in primary school. also did some ‘modern’ dancing with my sister to the tunes of old hindi movies in our own home (that was the time pre- ps-oriented dance games & para para sakura)
but seriously, i’d never seriously considered having to do it as part of an aerobics class. i went there on monday thinkin’ i’d be attending a latino aerobics class – salsa, mambo, rueda, cha-cha. we did that for 1/2 an hour, then the instructor asked whether we’d be interested to do bollywood style.
the whole class (twas a big class – all 4 of us!!) were a bit perplexed – but i was curious too. so we went ahead and i started imagining myself the likes of preity zinta, rani mukherjee, manisha koirala (dun ask how i know these names – grew up with a mum who loves hindi movies and ended up with a brother who’s nuts abt preity zinta)
it was definitely something different. no wonder most of hindi stars are curvy. the moves that they do really demands a lot.
will i do it again?
depends on the instructor’s choice of music. the last one sucked big time – sounded more like bhanghra than anything. not that i have anything against bhanghra
anyone interested? meet me at the lobby of tower 1 @ 6pm, mondays.
