re-arranging and re-organising

fara | 7/22/2005 | 10:27 am

i’ve moved the blog back to the root domain – since i rarely update my main page. what better way to ensure there’s always updates other than placing a blog on the main site?

i actually hv other plans to – hence the move. if i am persistent and consistent, those changes will be reflected over the next few weeks. if not, then it’ll still be the same ol’ blog.

cheerios!

oh.. and for those few readers of this blog, do tell me if there are any broken links!

quick note:

i just realised while doing the moving around of files and database entries – that quite a # of valid comments was labeled as spam by my blacklist. i went thru each word in their comments and couldn’t for the life of me figure out why it was labeled so.

so now, we’re back to manually monitoring the comments.

damn you spambots!

accessorise!!!

fara | 7/14/2005 | 5:17 pm

if nadd did her surprise purchase - i did my quasi-surprise purchase yesterday.

all this while, i would be running around carrying my wallet (not purse, aye!) and handphone in my hand. which explains why most of my older handphones are small in size. but then amir got me stitch-0 – and due to my previous run-in with pickpockets and the lot – amir thought it appropriate that i start to wise up and get me a handbag.

WHAT?? A HANDBAG??!!!

friends would attest to the fact that i am de very hard to convince to get into fashion – my shoes shalt not be too womanly, my outfit shalt not look so ladylike, my handbags – what handbag?

blogmages/old_hag.jpgend of last year though, i relented slightly by getting me this bag (which could not be dignified with the term handbag). i can just manage to squeeze in my wallet & stitch-0 and nuthin else.

then amir gave me my mini – which tested the seams of that bag. a few times – the mini tumbled out of the opening as the flap is only secured by velcro – and the velcro patch is now worn out. amir then repeated the request he made when we first got stitch-0 – go get a handbag.

ARGHHHHHHH~!! noOoooOoOoOOoOoOOOo!

many many weeks later – i finally got fed up with the old bag (the old hag) and hv been scouting for le perfect bag for my intent & purpose. made a number of trips to suria – the hags bags are mostly toooooooo woman-ish or just wa-hayyy ugly for my tastes.

i did however detect a spark of chemistry between me and this petite morgan bag. i wish i could take a snapshot of it – but suria klcc new rules – ur not allowed to take photos apart from on the ground & concourse areas.

though purchasing it wouldn’t burn a whole in me wallet – but as the whole intent & purpose for any bag that i end up buying is to store my 2 most important items – it seems a bit too much to invest in that morgan handbag.

blogmages/new_hag.jpg so i resigned myself to continuing to use the old hag until it breaks down into minutae pieces of fabric when i walked passed the costume jewellery section of isetan. saw some bags hanging there – of lively colors and designs – which of course i would never buy – and found in my ever-so-casual glance (i wouldn’t want to be caught dead browsing near these sections, for some reason), this gem of a bag.

color – black (my favourite color for bags)
size – slightly larger than the old hag (as demonstrated by me placing my astro decoder remote beside the two)
pricetag – a steal? i wouldn’t know – it’s not as if i shop for handbags every month. but less than the amount i spent at cpk hving lunch for two.

i think i should be happy with this til the morgan thing goes on sale (yeah, i am that cheap)

attack of the butterflies

fara | 7/12/2005 | 7:40 pm

blogmages/IMAGE_00010.jpg among the many many butterflies that have been ‘attacking’ the grandest twin towers in malaysia.

it’s been such since a few months ago. no explanations though as to why they decided to flutter around here instead of in the parks where there’s more food source.

yesterday i counted 20 butterflies outside the tower 1 lobby whilst another 15-18 at tower 2 lobby. quite a number end up dead – such a sorry sight. had one of the butterflies perched on my hand for a blink of the eye. absolutely bewdiful creatures.

been snooping around the ‘net. this species look like the Papilio demolian demolian.. found an image from putrajaya lake & wetland images gallery.

but then again, ain’t no botanist so don’t kill me if it’s not the correct greek name

the keys!! the keys!!

fara | 7/12/2005 | 7:32 pm

went to my developer’s credit control office. planned to be there b4 9 am – basically wanted to park my arse there even before they open for business so that we could be the first attended to.

humans may plan – but god has a greater overall plan in mind. an accident on the mrr2 for the traffic fr ampang to gombak caused us to lose the valuable 20 minutes needed and we arrived in pj 20 mins past the targeted time & lost a few more to figuring out which of the multiple offices bearing the group’s name is the actual subsidiary office.

passed to one of the credit control officers my v.p.(vacant possession) papers for them to prepare the l.a.d. calculation. me, i hv done some homework (based on house buyers association info – head for their website for more articles on home buying) and hv already figured out what amount to expect.

waited for > 20 mins (which is more than the promised 15 mins stated by the officer). amir ended up kicking up a fuss just so they would actually attend to us. which they hastily did within the next 3 mins! surprise !! surprise !! as amir & another homebuyer said – when they were in launching/sale mode – you’re treated like royalty but when it comes to delivery/handing over of the property – they treat us like shit.

back to the matter at hand – so after a lot of checking calculations and bickering over the actual amount owed – i finally signed the claims form. and payment of the claim is promised in 1 mths’ time.

on the other hand, hv arranged to view the property on friday noon. will be taking time off – since friday hrs are 7 at max (and i’d be in the office up to 1pm – that’s 5 hrs there). will hv the images on the property up in a new subdomain to this site – lease.faramir.net for potential tenants to view.

anybody looking for an apartment?
