had to be in btu for two-days as we were conducting training for the users there. left on wednesday and flew back on friday. should’ve taken photos whilst i was there, but as i hv yet to hack my o2 to give me better pictures – decided against using the pda-camera.

this was the longest business trip i had to go to after kya was born. became a bit homesick the two nights just before dozing off to sleep. all my fault though – shouldn’t have gatal tangan to copy those pics and vids of kya into my o2 to show off to my friends @ bintulu. suddenly had the strong urge to hug kya. *bawls!!!*

anyway, the last i set foot on bintulu grounds were in 2001 – and we landed on the old airstrip of an airport. this time we landed on the much improved bintulu airport. i saw a lot more of bintulu this time ’round considering my last visit was a quick flight into btu fr kch in the wee hrs of the morning, a two-hour meeting with bintulu peeps and then it was back to kul in the evening.

the first night, managed to meet up with suwalee and nishat from my uni days – both also turned out to be housemates with my project’s key user. had laksa sarawak at this restaurant called riverfront. it may be facing the river – i couldn’t tell since it was drizzling that night and i was famished – my main objective was to get to my dinner and not to get my clothes wet. i ended up having dinner with the whole household + a lady from permata.

it was good food, good company – though i do have some grouses with the group in the middle of the outlet who insisted on puffing away when there where no-smoking signs around them – illiterate lot? but they’re SIGNBOARDS – with pictures of a cigarette with an ‘X’ over it. surely you could understand signs even if you can’t read.

the 2nd night, headed over to kidurong club. more good food and good company. thanks achat, diamond and hemlet. tried out quite a number of new dishes – midin and sea cucumber soup. will definitely try more of local dishes when i drop by there again (if ever). decided that life in btu ain’t that bad esp. if you’re the type who likes their community small and on talking terms with each other, the quiet life and outings that involve nature-related activities. i could live there (i think) eheheh.

since i switched to my o2, i haven’t been that diligent in posting photos on this site. here’s random pics from the numerous folders that wm2003 automatically creates when i snap away.

blogmages/kya_cap.jpg latest of kya’s photo. my baller baby – she loves wearing caps – tried to put on those cute-sy girlish hats but it always ends up flying across the room after the initial 5 seconds. now i can be sure kya won’t succumb to heat stroke or start complaining about the sun shining in her eyes when we go out. can’t stand her wearing her uncle’s smelly caps (y’know how unbelievably smelly caps can get with male sweat)

blogmages/iamkingofmycastle.jpg this was taken a few days after we bought her a bag of foam puzzle pieces. she’d start counting and showing us bits of the puzzles while figuring out what each piece actually represents. which is what i intended it to be for.

but then her over-creative uncles started building structures out of the pieces and in the end, she plays king of the castle with it. oh well, at least she’s still learning stuff.

blogmages/atwork.jpg a snap of my workstation and notebook. darned heavy. the notebook – not the workstation. who’d be dumb enuff to try and pick up a workstation?? huh? just thot of paying tribute to where i sometimes spend more than 13 hrs of the day at.

blogmages/skybridge.jpg was walking back from submitting either my leave or claims at home office in tower 2. tried to see how much of the view i would be able to get with the camera. not bad.

still need to do some tweaking on the o2 (based on hacks from mpc) to get nicer photos. but then, if i was truly serious about photography, i’d get meself a proper digital camera with all the bells and whistles. (knowing me – it might end up gathering dust on my vanity table – i hv a vanity table??? wahhhh!!!)

what’s with this one user of ours that she would insist on calling close to/or after 5 pm and force me to stay back just to answer her friggin’ questions.

WAAARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! am actually answering her queries while typing in the entry.. mentally throttling the user over the phone.. dieee diieeee dieee.. kill killl dieee dieee!!!! DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

i do know that not everybody is equipped with the skills to use a computer correctly, but the least she could do is get hold of her IT guy…. damn IT guy for leaving her at my mercy..

ok.. we’re done.. better pack up before she rings again. at least i won’t feel guilty for not picking up her call.

and i am not supposed to do that section of support pun!!!!!! oh well.. in the name of keeping the good name of the company, who can’t be bothered to even make us feel appreciated.

as per the infamous quote of the century for me colleagues what do you want? flowers? chocolates? ehems… yess.. and top that off with a fat paycheck please!

my jaw is still hanging from reading nadd’s latest entry – the day i bought a skirt.. why is this such a big deal? she’s a gal, right? and gals wear skirts right? .. WRONG! some girls would rather die than wear skirts.. yours truly used to be one.. well.. up to the day my cheeky dorm-mates decided they’d like to see me swishing away and got me a dress for my 15th birthday.. i have the dress till today… just for keepsakes (i don’t even dare to venture trying that one on after delivering kya – but then again, if nadd could get herself a skirt – i can try the dress again he he)

anyhow, back to nadd.. the only skirt that i remember her wearing is the school pinafore.. and even that was in lower secondary. so it’s been ages since the world have seen her sporting a skirt. her work wear is mainly pants and the odd baju kurung.. kebaya? *squeezes brain out trying to envision nadd in kebaya* i can’t recall ..

that’s how big a thing it is.. hehe..

this, after i just got a shock going through our yahoogroup’s albums and found one supposedly on nadd’s wedding.. haiya.. shock after shock.. kalah tsumani. ehh tsunami.. heheh
