after yesterday’s brouhaha on my minor incident, i’ve forgotten to put my thoughts on the following:
- the lady that was shot in the incident at a hypermart in batu caves was actually a sibling to our colleague - i recall commenting to mama that her surname sounded familiar - my condolences to the family in this dark hour
- our company’s annual dinner was last saturday - themed ‘the night of stars‘ - which is roughly the same as amir’s company annual dinner theme too. saw tonnes of pictures - yeah you guessed it, i did not attend due to other commitments - some dressed up for the occassion, others just came as themselves. but then, if you feel that you’re already a star, just go with the flow
the whole thing was reminiscent of my school annual inter-batch drama competition
- november this year will mark the 10th year since i left my residential school in seremban.. the place of tonnes of memories, the merging of lifelong friendships (although we don’t really work that hard at it) and building of some bad attitude - and i mean bad in the nicest way
we’re pushing for a weekend getaway sometime in september but as some may also not be able to make the september date - we’re also hosting a high tea function. good food .. good company.. time to exchange business cards .. reforge old friendships. i’m hyped!
okay dokey.. time to get back to work

bloody ‘el. it’s not enough that it’s a monday. it had to also be the day that my car gets bumped into by an effin motorcyclist.
had just passed the jelatek lrt station to head for jln ampang and had braked to a stop while waiting for the traffic police to let our side of the traffic through.
a moment later,
THUMP!!!!
me first thought was ‘did i just hit another car?‘
strained me neck to have a peek forward and confirmed that my car was at least 1 feet from the one infront of me. checked on my rear view mirror and saw a motorcyclist sans the head (his head was above my line of vision - d’uh) literally on my back. he did a lot of fidgeting, prolly trying to get his bearings again since he hit the car quite forcefully.
i, on the other hand, had these thoughts swimming in my head,
- couldn’t very well get out and try to get his details (or check the extent of the damage) - we’re smack in the middle of rush hour to office
- this guy must really be late for work to not notice that the traffic is at a standstill and manage to hit a car that ain’t moving
- i wish i had decided to hitch a ride with amir this morning (actually this already passed my mind when i hit the main road leading to work)
- there goes our NCD (or is it NCB?)
* WPG2 CANNOT LOCATE GALLERY2 ITEM BY * i kept my eyes on the motorcyclist - waiting to see what he’s gonna do - since i couldn’t even make eye contact(read two para before this), couldn’t indicate to the bugger that i needed his details. he moved slowly over to the left of me car and then……. vRrrOOooOoMMmMm…. just drove off!!
*&*^%#$#@!!!
quickly took mental note of the plate number and started to list all the nasty things i was going to ask amir to do to that nincompoop!
* WPG2 CANNOT LOCATE GALLERY2 ITEM BY *i itched to see what damage has been done but put the urge to stop on hold until i reached the klcc carpark
and managed to get honked at by a moronic cabbie for giving way to a car from the opposite direction make a turn to the lane between pnb darby park & desa kudalari. (tempted .. yesss.. my preciouss… we was very tempted to show our bewdiful middle finger to that moron)
suffice to say, i was in a sore mood when i parked. and irked i was when i saw the damage. took a few photos. made a call to me other half to inform him of the accident (2 accidents in 5 months.. quite a record) and promised to send photos of it to him. gave the plate number of the offender. refrained from asking amir to either beat him up or at least bash the bugger’s bike (it looked new when it whizzed from my view on jln jelatek).
and made it to the office in one piece.
i’d say it has been a manic monday indeed.

- become one of two female siblings totally uninitiated in the arts of make-up
- receive generic request from the other sibling to purchase mascara
- head for the neighborhood watson’s / guardians (any pharmacy) with a female colleague
- ask female colleague (who also rarely wears make-up) for her opinion on which would be the correct mascara to buy
- ring up sister on low mobile credit to run through the various options
- do a lot of picking up and reading labels out loud to the amusement of the store attendents
- finally ask for help from store attendents in identifying correct color of mascara (note: could’ve done this earlier but since yours truly has an aversion to store attendents.. what can i say)
- proudly head to the cashier to pay for purchase
- vow to never do any make-up shopping ever, ever again (note: may end up having to eat my words some time down the road, when sister come visit again)

* WPG2 CANNOT LOCATE GALLERY2 ITEM BY * here’s my lame attempt at being a poetic photographer. only thing is - the effin camera on stitch-0 don’t work too well in the dark. not that it works fabulously in daylight.
but yeah, this is it. it’s supposed to show a large full moon through the dark leaves of the tree in front of our house. but the moon turned out small in the pic. so much for poetism.
* WPG2 CANNOT LOCATE GALLERY2 ITEM BY * mothering rule #537 : toddlers will always happily put any container with the slightest indent in it on their head - but will always scream blue murder when you try to put a cap to protect them from the afternoon sun.
kya’s placed on her head an array of things - dustbins, bowls, cups, laundry baskets, you name it. thank god my dad is a stickler for cleanliness - even his dustbins are speckless - who else do you know that scrubs mightily the bottom of a wok (asian frying pan) - maybe i should take a photo of that. so i don’t make a fuss whenever kya proudly shows her latest headdress.
* WPG2 CANNOT LOCATE GALLERY2 ITEM BY * i have been bemoaning the fact that the shopping complex that used to use the tag line ‘everything under the sun‘ didn’t have a measly mcdonald’s outlet. i was heading back to the office from paying for my trip to kerteh when i passed by the level 2 foodcourt (still dunno what’s the new name) and noticed that the left wing (or right wing, depending where you’re standing) has opened to public.
the second thing i noticed then was *drum roll* ta-da!!! a macca’s outlet!! although i’ve had my lunch (sandwich), i decided to get me a burger just to officiate its opening. i foresee a lot of me hard-earned moolah being channeled to this outlet. oh and there’s the book that i’ve been reading on and off for the past 1 year. the unfinished tales - a fitting title since i can’t seem to finish it . always end up opening up the lotr trilogy to check up on some details and getting engrossed with that book instead.
* WPG2 CANNOT LOCATE GALLERY2 ITEM BY * our family has a new routine now for the weekends. we head for the nearby park for an hour or so of walking, walking and more walking (for me it involves a lot of running around after kya on the playground gym) and then we end up at the neighborhood mamak restaurant for breakfast. i made the mistake of also dropping in the convenience store next door to see whether the latest ‘Pedang Setiawan’ has arrived and kya saw this toy that sells for RM2.
she had actually wanted to buy that toy in each of our earlier visits to the store but i’ve always said no. that morning, i didn’t have the heart to deny her a measly 2 dollar trinket - so i got her the toy. she played with it for roughly 10 minutes and immediately lost interest in making it turn. it’s now turned into something she uses to hit people with. especially her uncle andy..tsk tsk.

have been keeping track of my expenses using jabplite. pretty nifty personal finance software - and it’s free too!
however, i managed to muck up my data last thursday. this is the 2nd time! the first time it happened to me, i had 1 month’s worth of transactions and didn’t make any backups. so i learnt my lesson and started over fresh and made backups. tried to use the backup to restore the data to my phone with no success.
contacted the software developer and he had been so helpful. am in the midst of testing out the latest proposed solution. let’s see whether i have the smarts to figure how to do this - or i’ll end up having to start fresh yet AGAIN!
