wandered along on the net and chanced upon this cute gadget -> a James Bond Stealth Camera.
some of the features that capture the attention (taken off the site thinkgeek.com):
- Quick Shot: Flip the top, click the button and close the case. No switching ON required
- Amazing ST Micro technology allows for high quality image capture with incredibly small file sizes.
- Zippo-Style metal case
- Internal memory holds up to 150 pictures @ 640 x 480, up to 310 pictures @ 320 x 240
- Takes full depth of field photos with fluorescent lighting (no flash required)
now that’s real snazzy. pity i don’t smoke. and don’t celebrate christmas. else it would’ve been a great gift for amir too.
grown up to watching 007 doing his thing. and now i have a collection of 007’s movies on vcd.
my favorite is of course the all-time favorite of all - sean connery who appeared in 7 bond movies (at a tie with roger moore). the photo is taken off his official website - seanconnery.com
prolly should still put this gadget in my possibles list as a gift to amir. our current digicam is slowly suffering a lingering death. due to its multiple encounters with the lil tyke named kya!

i’ve promised to get mama some baskin-robbins ice-cream since before ramadhan. then it was ramadhan and she said she can wait til after raya.
earlier last week i headed up to the 3rd floor of suria klcc - where i was a regular customer (only during the 31st of the months anyhow
) and was disappointed to see that the outlet is GONE!!! in its place is an additional store which didn’t interest me (which pretty much sums up most of the stores in klcc)
blurdy ‘ell.
there goes one outlet that’s close enough for me. the one in carrefour wangsa maju closed up a few months before - rarely went to that one.
but WARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
why did they close the outlet in suria? not generating the target revenue? that’s just bollocks. everytime i pass by there’d be people hanging out.
even the one in sg wang plaza is no longer.
don’t they want business from ppl in kl? most of their outlets listed are in selangor.
darned it.
now.. to persuade amir to head for either uptown or 1 utama. (bangsar or midvalley has outlets. but i am negatively predisposed of both spots)

things are getting better and better with WP - touch wood! - i’ve been meaning to put in place a better way IMHO to go through the archives
it’s in already! click on the title ‘archives’ from my menu and it will give you the list of all posts sorted to your requirement
am still tinkering with CSS, trying to squeeze in some time between work, tending to kya and just plain dozing off to sleep. as it is - this entry is posted at 3 am. reminds me of my days back in uni.
anyways, the root of this domain www.faramir.net now no longer sports the ‘page under construction’ that was provided by my web host. it’s now something that relates to me! me! me! eh? me, amir and kya, of course..
so click away. not much done yet. as am still experimenting. prolly should think of getting the content up first but then, would rather have the style ready for use - won’t have to do much checking later.
ok time to snooze…

blimey!!..
was walking back from getting me a Chocolate Fudge from Secret Recipe on the 1st Level of Suria KLCC when i passed by the corridor that leads to the public phones and toilet area.
saw this big sign indicating that it is a pay toilet (all other loos in the complex is free) since it’s a Premier Service Toilet.
for a charge of RM2.00, i don’t know what to expect and i won’t be forking out that much when i can head for the loos on my floor in the towers.
if you would like to get some idea of what to expect, go here and here
studying in melbourne has got me pampered. with all the public amenities that are offered that is. the loos at the shopping complexes are not only free - they’re clean too! there are some exceptions here and there but on average i’d give them a 3.89 out of 5 cleanliness rating. (reminds me of PCK - Chu Beng being elected as the President of the Clean Toilet Society and Stomp! @ Studio D - when Azura had the tour of Singapore loos with a loo inspector)
some ppl attribute the low stds of hygiene to the fact that malaysians use water to wash up. now why is that hard for me to believe? it’s only water after all - not bodily fluids!
tips on keeping our loos smell-free
- learn to aim better
- learn to aim better
- learn to aim better
- learn to flush
- if excrement(s) still floating, flush again
- pre-requisite: if flush not functioning, don’t go at all

on a cheerier note, am posting this photo of kya.
she absolutely loves her baju kurungs (which is as far from me as can be). don’t ever ever let her see any of her baju kurungs hanging. she will demand that that be her outfit for the day. if not, that smile of hers would turn upside-down.
she has 4 pairs of baju kurung to date. only 1 of them was bought by yours truly. the rest was an impulse purchase by her nenek and yaie (our term for atuk). not a good malay mum - i am.
amir’s pleased that kya loves baju kurung. i guess he’s feeling relieved that he won’t need to worry about kya aspiring to be the next britney.
but genes are anything to be based on, i used to love spaghetti string dresses and frilly socks when i was a kid. i won’t be caught dead wearing ‘em now.
we’ll just have to wait and see.
on the side:
got me my redeemed tix to TGV movies. planning to head for ‘meet the fockers’. anybody want to babysit? we pay in form of ice-creams and mr potato crisps (that’s what i pay my brother to babysit kya).
